Welcome to the online archives of Dances Patrelle. We are proud to showcase more than 18 years of works by world-renowned choreographer Francis Patrelle, as well as other choreographers of dramatic dance that dP has produced. Here, you will find comprehensive descriptions of each performance, along with an archive of photographs. In the future, we also plan to include short promotional videos for each production. We are in the process of converting our materials to digital format, so some of your favorites ballets may not yet be represented. Not to worry. We have not forgotten them. As soon as we have more materials ready, we will post. Thank you for your patience and enjoy!

2008 Season
Spring RepertoryMay 02 - 04, 2008
Dances Patrelle presents the 19th Annual Spring Repertory Performance:
Women, Men ... and Women
Is That All There Is?
Our world premiere ballet will be created to songs by Miss Peggy Lee. Miss Lee was a truly American woman — a singer, an actress and a song writer — she was an icon of American culture. We celebrate her artistry, her sensuality and most important — her womanliness.
Black & Blue ... and Bartok
This ballet predates the official beginning of Dances Patrelle. Created for our debut at the Riverside Church Dance Festival, it featured the late, great Martha Graham dancer, Tim Wengerd and Lynn Aarons of the Eliot Feld Company. "... invested with Mr. Patrelle's customary sense of transcendent drama" and is "a pas de deux one would like to see Mr. Nureyev take on." — Jennifer Dunning, The New York Times.
Fuoco a Fiama
Dances Patrelle's second season at the Alliance Francaise featured a ballet based on the love letters between Lucrezia Borgia and Pietro Bembo. It starred Cynthia Gregory as Lucrezia and New York City Ballet's Lindsay Fischer as Pietro. Also in the cast was Medhi Bahiri as Cesere Borgia. Cesere Borgia was the model for Machiavelli's The Prince. This spring, Ms. Gregory is going to stage and coach this revival. We are thrilled that Ms. Gregory, our first and foremost ballerina, will now bring to our company her brilliance and insights to this ballet.
