Dearest Friends,
"In Dance"
That has been the end of every letter I have written for nearly two decades.
Today, I start with it.
In July, Dances Patrelle came to you, our dance family, in need… And you responded — just as you have for more than 30 years. We asked you to help us keep Dances Patrelle solvent enough to ensure a 25th Anniversary of The Yorkville Nutcracker in 2021. To date, you have donated $30,000!
We are more than halfway to reaching our goal of $50,000.
I can’t tell you how much it means to us to have your response be so fast, so giving, and so generous. We are humbled.
“
There are hundreds of kids that The Yorkville Nutcracker has helped cultivate not only as performers, but as people.
”
— Anthony Carr
In addition, we have determined that we will have to cut back in every single area. To do our part to reach our goal we are eliminating much of our storage, insurance, salaries, and personnel. It will be painful and difficult, but we are going to do it. We are dedicated to surviving and seeing the 25th Yorkville Nutcracker season on the stage. The kids deserve it. The city deserves it. And we deserve it. All of us. We deserve to see our sacrifices made into triumphs. Triumphs "In Dance."

Thanks so much in advance. We are in this together. And we will continue to get through this together.
